Abstract

Alecto moth - Theretra alecto is a pest of vineyards. The study of some biological characteristics of this species was conducted in vineyards established in Samarkand region (Uzbekistan). The purpose of the study is to determine the characteristics of this type of pest and to study measures to combat it. Insects were reared in field and laboratory conditions and the results of these scientific works are presented in the article. In the study of biological properties, simple thermohygrometers were used to determine temperature and humidity. The development of larvae was monitored. The longest development period corresponded to the L5 stage (8±1.5). The highest survival rate was observed in the fifth stage larvae (92.03±02.11%). The average biological cycle of female individuals was 42.10±08.37 days, and the average biological cycle of male individuals was 38.07±09.20 days. The sex ratio of individuals was 0.55. During the research, the positive and negative effects of humidity and temperature on the larval cycle of individuals were determined.
